Izzy Delaney

Izzy, a gifted young performer from Bedford, has been offered an unconditional place at the prestigious Emil Dale Academy (EDA) in Letchworth, where she will undertake their intensive 1-year Musical Theatre Cert-HE Course. EDA is renowned as one of the leading institutions for Musical Theatre training in the UK. To further support her ambitions, we have awarded Izzy a grant for additional classes. Her ultimate dream is to perform on the West End stage.

Ambition.

Izzy is passionate about drama and music, dreaming of performing on the West End. She recently completed A levels in Music, Theatre Studies, and French, and has always been active in the performing arts.

Joining a local musical theatre group at age 7, Izzy performed there for nine years and later became an assistant teacher at 16. She has starred in several school musicals, including as Margaret New in "Everybody’s Talking about Jamie," and played diverse roles such as Helena in "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" and Elizabeth in "Frankenstein." In 2023, she earned a Distinction in her LAMDA Grade 8 Acting Through Song exam.

Izzy’s interest in theatre is broad, leading her to join Bedfordshire Youth Opera in 2021. She developed a love for opera, performing in "Sweeney Todd" and "Cendrillon," and achieved a Distinction in her Grade 6 Trinity exam in 2024. Her French studies have supported her in singing in foreign languages.

Beyond drama, Izzy sings, and plays the piano and guitar, performing at local events and music venues. From 2021 to 2024, she was a student leader for Bedford Music Hub, working on projects to provide musical experiences for children from diverse backgrounds. She also teaches at Bedford Kids Chorus, inspiring young musicians.

Education Grant.

After a rigorous audition process, Izzy has been offered an unconditional place in the Intensive 1-year Musical Theatre Cert-HE Course at Emil Dale Academy (EDA), one of the UK's top providers of Musical Theatre training. She hopes this opportunity will be a crucial step toward her career in Musical Theatre.

To support her journey, we have awarded Izzy a £1500 grant, covering extra classes and the cost of the end-of-year showcase.
